Assistant Store Manager at Lunar Mart

Grocery Store looking for a assistant store manager and cashier The purpose of the assistant store manager is to provide excellent customer service at the Point of Sale area. The duties and activities in this area needs to be executed by following procedure efficiently, accurately, and courteously. This ensures maximizing selling opportunities and minimizing risk to the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive and check float for the day.
• Able to work day and night shifts.
• Process purchases and Collect payments- cash and card.
• Issuing of accurate receipts to customers.
• Balancing the cash register.
• Uphold and Promote company values.
• Administer all transactions at the Point of Sale.
• Always ensure safe handling of cash.
• Provide a friendly and professional service.
• Inform customers of promotions and product ranges.
• Ensure Point of Sale area is kept clean, neat, and tidy and safe from Hazards and risks.
• Ensure all items are scanned to avoid shortages.
• Ensure customers are given the correct change to avoid your cash register being over.
• Packing and counting of stock
• Ensure you issue the correct change.
• Assist customers on the floor when you are not busy and there is another cashier.
• Complete daily cash-up at the end of the shift.
• Ensure personal hygiene standards are maintained.
• Remain courteous to customers
• Ad hoc tasks as assigned by manager.

Skills and Qualifications:

• A valid Matric Certificate.
• Customer Focused
• Excellent communication skills, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Previous Point of Sale experience advantageous.
• Accurate and attention to detail.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Able to work in a team.
