Accountant / Bookkeeper at Nology

Reporting to- and assisting the Financial Manager (FM) to direct, control and coordinate the overall financial activities of the organisation.

Location:
Nology | Gauteng – Centurion

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Creditors Management:
Electronic banking and processing of payment requisitions as per company procedure and policy.

Creditors management, monthly recons and generate weekly reports.

Cash Flow Management:
Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital requirements.

Prepare and present cash flow forecasts monthly with rolling forecast.

Cashbook and Cashflow

Manage and administrate the entire Forex function of the organisation.

Payroll Function:
Oversee cashbook entries and bank reconciliations.

Oversee petty cash management.

Assist FM with Cashflow management and reporting.

Daily Banking

Assist with daily and monthly account payments on various banking platforms.

General Ledger:
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Income and expense analysis as required.

Assist FM with fixed assets register to ensure proper categorisation and depreciation methods are used and maintaining of the insurance portfolio.

Processing of month end journals for reporting up to Trial Balance.

Assist in compiling monthly management reports.

Statutory Requirements

EnsSARS – assist FM with SARS related queries and submissions of VAT and PAYE.

STATS SA submission when required.

Financial Control and Administration

Assist FM with managing and implementation of internal controls.

Oversee and manage the necessary filing, storage, archiving and destruction of accounting documentation.

Oversee, develop and manage the Financial Assistant with regards to debtors and creditors management

Annual Audits and Budgets

Audit – prepare all files, reports & figures along with FM.

Assist in budget preparation process.

Ad-hoc financial duties and reports as required by management

Adhoc Reports From Database(s)

Assist with any ad hoc requests by management within level of competence.

Additional responsibilities to be confirmed once assessment of reporting requirements is finalised. The above list is not exhaustive, and you may be asked to undertake reasonable and additional duties or projects as required by the department manager or managing director.

Education and Qualifications Required:
Grade 12 and Accounting as subject – Preference.

Diploma or Degree in Bookkeeping.

BCom accounting or financial management degree would be highly advantageous.

Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Bookkeeping to Trial Balance.

Forex payments would be an advantage.

Experience in Middle Management level. (preferred)

Understanding of financial business processes.

High level of competence in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Sound knowledge of accounting principles.
