Maintenance Assistant at Vineyards in Elgin

Key Responsibilities:

– Assist the maintenance team in performing routine inspections and repairs on equipment, machinery, and facilities.

– Troubleshoot and diagnose issues to determine the best course of action for repairs.

– Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and efficient operation of machinery and equipment.

– Handle basic repairs such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.

– Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including completed tasks and parts used.

– Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.

– Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations at all times.

– Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

– High school diploma or equivalent.

– Previous experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

– Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair techniques.

– Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

– Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

– Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.

– Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual labour.

– Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: R6,500.00 – R8,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Elgin, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
