Costing Clerk – Automotive Industry at Full Circle HR

Job Title: Costing Clerk

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

A dynamic Auto Body Repair company is seeking an experienced Costing Clerk. The person in this role will be responsible for ensuring correct allocation of production cost by monitoring the materials, labour and other costs. The Costing Clerk will work closely with the production team and accounts payable to ensure that costs are calculated accurately and that all expenses are tracked.

ONLY APPLICATIONS WITH COSTING CLERK EXPERIENCE IN THE MOTOR INDUSTRY WILL BE CONSIDERED.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Responsible for compiling production cost on units, for units worked and material and/or parts used for vehicle repair cost.
• Responsible for calculating individual items, such as labour, material and time costs, revenue to cost, overhead expenditures, etc.
• Ensure vehicle details are correct, i.e. chassis number, registration number, warranty details.
• Ensure units under warranty are registered on the warranty system.
• Correct allocation of cost – ensure costing is accurate.
• Ensure correct codes are used for costing purposes.
• Ensure high quality of costing in order to enhance customer satisfaction and minimising queries.
• Check job cards daily.
• Preparation of reports.

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge & Experience

• Matric or Senior Certification equivalent.
• High level of Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of vehicle makes and models.
• Good administrative skills.
• Minimum of 2 to 4 years’ working experience in motor industry as a Costing Clerk.
• Sound knowledge of SLA’s, Invoicing, Audits
• Experience with various insurers.
• Own transport.
