Job Purpose

The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a qualified and competent individual to render a procurement service for goods and services that incorporates demand, acquisition and contract management. This post is stationed in Cape Town, CBD.

Minimum Requirements

An appropriate 3 year tertiary qualification (Advanced Diploma/B-Degree/ equivalent or higher) in Supply Chain Management or Financial Management; A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a supply chain management working environment.

Key Performance Areas

Coordinate and execute the quotation and bidding processes; Ensure prevention of fraud and abuse of the SCM system interventions; Monitor, analyse and determine actions to ensure compliance with contract management; Manage commitments and accounting; Staff supervisory functions; Uphold service delivery and standards.

Competencies

Knowledge of the following: Supply Chain Management; Application of relevant procurement legislation/policies; LOGIS and IPS/e-PS. Skills needed: Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Communication (written and verbal); Presentation; Planning and organising; Problem solving. Ability to: Work independently and as part of a team; Work under pressure and to cope with a high workload.

Remuneration

R 424 104 per annum (Salary level 9)
