Full Job Description

Our client, one of the largest wine cellars in the Stellenbosch area, is looking for a Costing Clerk to join their team.

The Costing Clerk will report to the Commercial Finance Manager

Main Purpose:
Updating of all work orders and ensures that actual cost is in line with budgeted/ standard cost.

Investigating variances in actual costs vs budgeted costs and communicating them to the sales team and Commercial finance management team.

Examining and validating product specifications.

Examining and investigating validity of current Bill of Material compared to original product specification setup.

Invoicing of production services rendered.

Handling of any queries relating to invoicing or price differences.

Stock control and stock management.

Ad hoc reports and analysis.

Main Duties:
Create and validate product specifications and check that product specification is setup correctly by NPD by validating information customer and product information.

Creation and validating of product/stock codes on ERP system.

Setup of different Bill of Materials relevant to different works orders.

Updating of Bill of Materials to be in line with actual productions and relevant overheads.

Checking specification and Bill of Material validity and reporting to Commercial finance management team if any changes to product specification or Bill of Material needs to be made.

Complete and accurate processing of production runs and accurate costing of production run and thus product cost.

Validate information; quantities and processes used in production run with production team before costing of product.

Flagging and reporting on any variances picked up on production run before costing of product.

Correct and accurate movement of stock on ERP System.

Complete and accurate processing of invoices/credit notes on ERP System relating to production services rendered.

Complete and accurate processing of purchase orders and receipts.

Handling of any queries relating to invoicing or price differences.

Monthly stock reconciliation.

Preparation of monthly reports relating to product costs and Gross profit % checks.

Qualifications and Experience

Relevant tertiary qualification in Cost Accounting

Other Competencies

Good knowledge of Costing Systems

Computer literacy – MS Office; ERP System (Sage X3)

Basic knowledge of bookkeeping

Accurate record keeping skills

Good interpersonal and communication skills,

Accurate, precise & methodical in approach to work

Diligent, Attention to detail, Stress tolerant,

Logical thinker, Deadline-driven

Area: Stellenbosch

Salary: R20k – R25k p.m. (depending on experience)
