Qualifications & Experience

  • BCom Honours or similar degree is a must
  • Must have at least 2-4 years controlling and financial management experience including financial analysis
  • Technically a sound professional in Finances and Controls
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be computer literate with Excel skills on an Advanced level and able to model data for ease of analysis and interpretation
  • Experience with working (output) with ERP/accounting systems and consolidation reporting applications
  • BI experience would be advantageous

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and interpretation of financial data and translating this in easy language to stakeholders
  • Preparation of periodic (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) financial reports (i.e month-end reporting, cash forecasts) as per monthly reporting calendar with providing commentaries on variance against Budget/Forecast/Prior Year, including review and challenging of accounting work performed.
  • Identify added-value reporting opportunities for trend analysis & commentary to assist forecasting & budgeting requirements
  • Ensure accuracy of forecasts by recommending corrective actions to Executives when trends are unfavorable, driving consistency in reporting across the business
  • Participation in budgeting/forecast processes
  • Summarise large data loads into significant reports
  • Propose and manage activities to close potential gaps
  • Managing year end reporting and consolidation
  • Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
  • Improve efficiency through backoffice automation with digital transformation in mind.
  • Support adhoc requests and focus on ongoing improvement with FP&A
