Accountant (Portuguese Speaking) at Zeal HR

INTRODUCTION:
An exciting opportunity has become available within the Engineering industry, for a Portuguese Speaking Accountant. The position is based in Bellville.

The candidate must be fluent in Portuguese since accounting records must be kept in both Portuguese and English. Responsibilities will not be limited to Mozambican entity and will require involvement with South African entity as well.

REQUIREMENTS:
Accounting degree or diploma

Completed articles with audit/accounting firm beneficial

At least 3 years experience

Knowledge of Xero accounting software beneficial

Knowledge of Pastel beneficial

Knowledge of VAT

Proficient with Microsoft Excel

Accurate and detail focused

Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines

Proper time management

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supplier invoice processing

Customer invoice processing

Monthly supplier and customer reconciliations

Bank transactions processing

Reconciliation of bank accounts

Credit card processing and reconciliation

Accurate accounting of VAT

Maintain and keep fixed asset register up to date

Monthly trial balance check to ensure processing was done accurately

Assist with monthly reporting as well as annual audit
