An exciting career opportunity exists in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape for an Accountant within the Medical Health Care environment – reporting to the Financial Managers. If you have the following competencies, and experience and are deadline-driven – we look forward to receiving your application.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 with relevant Financial Degree
Proof of Covid-19 vaccination (or willingness to receive by the date of hire to be considered)
Proven Minimum 6 Years’ experience as Financial Accountant
Proven proficiency in Sage Evolution Accounting or Pastel Partner (recent)
Ability in financial processes up to trial balance and drafting of management accounts for review.
Ability to learn industry specifics e.g.: related healthcare terminology.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to take initiative and support team efforts are essential.
Good computer skills ESSENTIAL: Intermediate Microsoft Office, email, internet, Excel, Word
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Interest calculations
Processing of debtor and creditors
Submission of VAT201’s and EMP201’s – including calculations and reconciliations
All processing up to trial balance
Drafting of management accounts for review
Accurate financial reporting and analysis
Authorization of requisitions and payments
Monthly creditor reconciliations and payments
Review of daily banking and balances
Follow-up of queries/requests of Facility Managers
Processing of month-end journals and statistics
Responsible for bank reconciliations and cashbook
Prepare and balance inter-company loan accounts and invoice recharges.
Recording and reconciling all inter-company transactions
Preparing month-end reconciliations for all Balance Sheet General Ledger Accounts
Preparation of Audit Files and liaison with external auditors
Assist in ad-hoc finance projects.
Preparation and writing of reports and analysis, including monthly management reports and schedules, analyses of expense variances, revenue and cost trends, and efficiency trends.
Effective cash flow forecasting.
Effective governance and risk management
Any other function required by the direct line manager.
