Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a General Manager: Finance to join their dynamic team in Kariega/Uitenhage.
Purpose of the role:
The GM: Finance will bring rigour and structure to the finance function and will be responsible for leading the day-to-day running of the finance function, delivering accurate and transparent financial reports, setting budgets, implementing financial controls, forecasting and monitoring KPI’s. Protecting the Company’s margins through control of operational costs, maximising income, and assisting Management to achieve its earnings objectives.
Job Description:
Lead and manage the Finance Team to ensure preparation and submission of monthly management accounts, quarterly board packs and head office reporting.
Review of accounts and investigation of variances.
Support Manufacturing and other departments to ensure the company’s financial objectives have been met.
Manage cash flow projections and reports
Preparation / review of Annual Financial Statements to ensure compliance with IFRS, all required standards and accuracy
Assist with the Budget and Forecasting process
Manage team to ensure on time submission for APDP and government grants.
Effectively oversee and manage internal and external year-end audits.
Manage and ensure compliance with SARS i.e. on time submissions for Vat, PAYE, IT14
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and labour department requirements
Review and control payment function and approve all payments
Oversee Debtors management process
Involvement in creating business plans to support the company’s financial objectives
Work with senior teams to grow business formulating strategies and plans
Improving internal processes (monitor and implement internal controls)
Ensuring team works as a cohesive unit
Managing the performance of each employee
Job Requirements:
CA (SA)
10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience, with strong focus on accounting and tax activities and responsibilities
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
8+ years of management experience (post articles) – Must be able to effectively manage a large team
Must be technically inclined – up to date with relevant IFRS and Tax legislation (Accounting Standards)
Syspro experience will be an advantage
Automotive experience will be a distinct advantage
Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead and develop team
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Excellent Microsoft excel skills.
Experience in performance management of team
Analytical
Natural problem solver with innovative ideas, who can take initiative
Solid presentation skills and ability to explain complex processes to an audience.
Technically strong accountant with ability to interpret and implement changes to comply with new IFRS standards
Self-starter who can handle multiple tasks and complete projects under tight time constraints
Planning and managing the company’s performance.
Manage operations and processes within budget.
Assist the finance team with accounting problems and queries – to enhance efficiency of the team
Experience with creating full IFRS annual financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and month-end / year end closing process
Experience in credit management / debtors is an advantage
Ability to enforce and maintain high control standards, even under pressure.
