Job Purpose:
Research, analyses and evaluates requirements for Electrical, control & instrumentation systems.Designs, develops, tests, Commissions and maintains Electrical, control & instrumentation systems and reviews the work done in cases where the activities are outsourced.Personnel Specification:Professional Membership Preferred

Grade 12.
Diploma/ B-Tech Electrical Engineering
Required: Experience
5 Years’ Experience
Drivers Licence & Own car
Required: Knowledge
Extensive knowledge of Electrical systems Design, especially MCC’s
Extensive knowledge of Computer Aided Design Systems and Tools (AutoCAD Electrical)
Extensive knowledge of Control and Instrumentation Design.
Extensive knowledge of Soft Starters and Drives setup and commissioning
Extensive knowledge of Commissioning of Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Systems
Extensive knowledge to develop and interpret electrical engineering drawings and schematic
Intermediate Knowledge of PLC Programming skills, SCADA & HMI design, configuration and implementation.
Intermediate knowledge of popular PLC, SCADA, HMI and electrical products (Schneider, Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB.)
Intermediate knowledge of Industrial Networking design and configuration (Ethernet, MODBUS, Fibre optic, Profibus, Devicenet, etc.)
Intermediate knowledge of Telemetry systems
Intermediate Knowledge of Diesel generators and automatic generators starting system.
Knowledge of transformers

Job Specification & Key Responsibilities
Evaluates electrical, control and instrumentation systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research; applying knowledge of electrical engineering.
Develop and interpret engineering schematic drawings and information.
Develop and complete products or materials datasheets, loop drawings, controllers, network requirements and software specifications.
Commissioning, configuration and setting up of soft starters and drives.
Analyse, interpret technical specifications and generate electrical, control and Instrumentation design as per specifications.
Calculate, design, specify material for manufacturing and installation, and supervise the electrical design, manufacturing and installation of MCCs, PLC panels, SCADA and HMI.
Calculate, design and specify electrical back-up power systems, supervise installation and commissioning, setup generator controller systems and train clients on electrical systems.
Compile overall project documents and equipment manuals with drawings.
To assist, when and as required, in project cost estimates for tender projects, or engineering services to aid management in bidding on or determining the price of projects or services.
Confirms system’s and components’ capabilities of each project requirements.
Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials
Write User Requirements Specifications (URS), Functional Design Specification (FDS), Control Philosophy and other project requirements documentation.
Develop materials data sheets, loop drawings, control network requirements and software specifications
Write program code for Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), design and configure Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and HMIs according to the customer requirements
Commissioning of electrical systems, automation of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and instruments.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;
Supervise junior design engineers, manufacturing process and commissioning.
Train and supervise other electrical engineering trainees on system tools and products.
