Our opportunity

The role holder will be responsible to ensure optimum Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Cash & Bank management ensuring delivery to defined KPI within set budgets. Responsible to create local Finance Operations strategic direction in line with business strategy. Responsible for ensuring visibility of activities and reporting is provided at group level for entities in scope. Provide operational leadership of the Finance Operations function and ensure that all decisions contribute to the delivery of business targets.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

Functional Management

Define overall local Finance Operations strategy and execute in coordination with overall FinOps strategy.

Provide direction and subject matter expertise to support FinOps in line with strategy.

Manage the performance of direct reports.

Monitor and report on the delivery of financial results as per defined KPI targets, e.g. for outstanding accounts receivables per age bucket, Collections Effectiveness Index, Days Premium Outstanding.

Oversee the implementation and maintenance of governance and ICF/ SOX controls across Finance Operations scope.

Liaise with enabling teams such as sourcing, IT, Finance to ensure implementation of appropriate systems and processes to deliver effective operations.

Drive the implementation of group projects / initiatives for Bryte.

Support Finance team in the planning process and liaise with Business.

Partner related to planning and budget matters.

Ensure robust controls are implemented and operating effectively.

Overdue debt and write-off is minimised and in-line with targets.

Cash flow is optimised through effective DPO management.

Banking relationships and contracts are maintained, and costs minimised.

Offshore suppliers or regional HUBs / service centres deliver within agreed service standards, quality and costs.

Ensure all bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations and accounts payable and receivable reconciliations are accurately conducted and processed in accordance with required internal procedures and policies.

Ensure the reconciliations of the general ledger balance with all other sub ledger processes.

Ensure strict management of all cash.

Ensure complete and accurate VAT treatment, accounting and compliance for FinOps.

Attend to and resolve all queries escalated to this level and ensure timeous resolution or escalation is unable to resolve.

Advise, guide and assist team leaders and financial technicians regarding processes and procedures.

Ensure trial balance is prepared monthly and timeously provided to the Reporting team.

Provide insight and explanations to stakeholders regarding accuracy and reasonableness of trial balance.

Manage the processing of information and compile the reconciliation.

Review reconciliations and assess for accuracy and ensure exact balancing.

Investigate reasons for imbalances identifies in the trial balance and ensure corrective action is taken timeously.

Gather feedback from team as to inaccuracies identified to assist in designing and developing process and system enhancements.

Education and Experience

B Com Accounting Degree

At least 5 years’ experience at management level

Broad commercial knowledge with sound business acumen

Proven track record of people management capabilities

Capabilities

Excellent business acumen and understanding of key drivers related to working capital management (and more specifically accounts receivables)

Ability to facilitate and implement projects

Effective Communication and strong negotiating skills
