Senior Financial Accountant at Growth Hub

Salary offer (OTE): R40 000 – R65 000 (depending on experience)

Remote position – candidate must send proof of backup power supply, reliable internet connection, and a dedicated work space free from distractions. This is non-negotiable.

The employee’s public holidays will be aligned to UK bank holidays and SA public holidays will be deemed ordinary working days.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Growth Hub is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our client’s team based in the UK. The ideal candidate needs to be well versed in foreign transactions, have prior experience in an international environment (preferably UK), and be able to independently manage the entire accounting and bookkeeping function for the business. WHAT WILL WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Manage the full bookkeeping function for the business.
• Oversee and manage the financial aspects of our operations and clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, and reports to provide valuable insights to clients
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support decision-making processes and optimise financial performance.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth, taking proactive initiatives to drive positive outcomes.
• You will be required to do advanced tax planning and structuring for clients, taking all their financial and tax needs into account to achieve the most tax efficient position.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar senior accountant role.
• Advanced technical skills in tax, bookkeeping, accounting and auditing.
• Knowledge of forex transactions.
• Implementation of controls to ensure efficiency within any business.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team, inspiring and motivating colleagues.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a track record of finding innovative solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive positive change within an organisation.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and reporting standards.
• Fully equipped to work remotely.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent multi-tasker and good at meeting deadlines
• Curious, flexible, self-motivated.
• Ability to undertake successful continuous improvement and to deal with change effectively.
• Quick to learn and resourceful.
• Good organisation skills and efficiency.
• Good at building relationships with colleagues.
• Experience of working in an international environment would be a distinct advantage.
